Open mouth, insert...

Sen. Kerry would be a much better candidate if he simply said nothing at all.

Example of the Danger of the Left

Red State DVD review

We subscribe to Buzzflash (www.buzzflash.com) because a) we like a good laugh and b) we like to know what our enemies on the kooky/left wing/communist/diversity is mandatory/white people are evil side of things are up to.

The folks at fluzzbash posted a review today of a DVD, Red States. If you haven't heard, the movie is about, well, we'll just let the director tell you:

It's Over. He won. He actually won.

It's the morning after, our Liberal awakens from a fitful sleep, depressed. He can't believe Bush won the election. He feels empty and angry. He is grieving as if he has experienced a profound loss.

He surfs the internet looking for solace. He comes across the Daily Mirror cover. It helps him. He laughs at all of "those dumb Red State fools". The pleasure derived from this is hollow, fleeting.

He spends the next few days avoiding the fact of the president's re-election, starting arguments with strangers and blaming "those ignorant masses" for the result. He has fantasies about moving to Canada.

But he hates hockey.

As time passes he successfully completes the grieving process. He has come to accept the fact of the president's re-election. But he is left with a question. It burns within and won't leave him alone. It has plagued him since election day. A question that he continues to ask himself, of Bush voters ......

WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?

This story may be familiar to you. It was experienced, in one form or another, by millions of people around the world. Maybe, even yourself. It has become the driving force and simple theme for our documentary, RED STATE.

RED STATE - The Movie

In Red State - The Movie, a team of documentary filmmakers set out from the
Blue-est of Blue States, California, on a cross-country journey to record what actual people, not pundits, politicians or reporters, have to say about their country and themselves. Traveling through Red States they interviewed hundreds of Americans from all walks of life in an attempt to discover what makes a Red State person Red.

Our concern is here is not the DVD so much as the attitude shared and endorsed by the left. Liberals construct a world view where cultural and tribal strengths are destroyed, where family solidarity is mocked, where National sovereignty is an anchor to be cast off, where blood and soil are useless. Objectivity is the order of the day. Consider not yourself, but only others. The left's concern for others is a failed mutation of camaraderie and sense of community.

The buzztrash review tellingly cites a lack of "reflective thinking" in the comments of the people interviewed for the film. "Reflective thinking," understand, is just another term for objectivity. The notion of personal responsibility inherent in subjectivity is no doubt lost on the left. Absent the salient bonds of blood, liberals spin helplessly from moment to moment, decaying from the inside.

The ultimate liberal hero dies with AIDS in his veins, diversity in his mind and the blood of family on his hands.

Sam Francis Article

Sam Francis Article:

American Renaissance, Vol. 10, No. 5, May 1999.
"Racism"
The Curious Beginnings of a Useless Word
Samuel Francis

The Oxford English Dictionary is a multivolume reference work that is one of Western scholarship's most remarkable achievements – the standard dictionary of the English language on what are known as "historical principles." Unlike most dictionaries, the OED also provides information on the first historical appearance and usage of words. The range of the erudition in the OED is often astounding, but for American Renaissance readers, one of its most interesting entries is for the word "racism."

According to the second edition (1989) of the OED, the earliest known usage of the word "racism" in English occurred in a 1936 book by the American "fascist," Lawrence Dennis, The Coming American Fascism. The second usage of the term in English that the OED records is in the title of a book originally written in German in 1933 and 1934 but translated into English and first published in 1938 – Racism by Magnus Hirschfeld, translated by Eden and Cedar Paul. Since Hirschfeld died in 1935, before the publication of Dennis' book the following year, and had already used the word extensively in the text and title of his own book, it seems only fair to recognize him rather than Dennis as the originator of the word "racism." In the case of the word "racist" as an adjective, the OED ascribes the first known usage to Hirschfeld himself. Who was Magnus Hirschfeld and what did he have to tell us about "racism"?

Magnus Hirschfeld (1868-1935) was a German-Jewish medical scientist whose major work was in the field of what came to be known as "sexology" – the scientific study of sex. Like Havelock Ellis in England and Alfred Kinsey in the United States, Hirschfeld was not only among the first to collect systematic information about sexuality but also was an apostle of sexual "liberation." His major work was a study of homosexuality, but he also published many other books, monographs, and articles dealing with sex. He wrote a five-volume treatise on "sexology" as well as some 150 other works and helped write and produce five films on the subject.

It is fair to say that his works were intended to send a message – that traditional Christian and bourgeois sexual morality was repressive, irrational, and hypocritical, and that emancipation would be a major step forward. His admiring translators, Eden and Cedar Paul, in their introduction to Racism, write of his "unwearying championship of the cause of persons who, because their sexual hormonic functioning is of an unusual type, are persecuted by their more fortunate fellow-mortals." Long before the "sexual revolution" of the 1960s, Magnus Hirschfeld was crusading for the "normalization" of homosexuality and other abnormal sexual behavior.

Hirschfeld was the founder of an Institute for Sexual Science in Berlin and helped organize "sexology" on an international scale. In 1922, he was physically attacked and almost killed by anti-Semites in Munich. In May, 1933, the Nazis closed down his "Institute of Sexual Science" and Hirschfeld fled to France, where he lived until his death in 1935.

Racism is largely devoted to a highly polemical "refutation" of some of the main racial ideologies and theories of the 19th and 20th centuries. The writers whom Hirschfeld criticized, aside from his favorite target of the National Socialists themselves, were figures like Arthur de Gobineau, Vacher de La-Pouge, Houston Stewart Chamberlain, and others generally denounced today as "pseudo-scientists." In fact, that is an inappropriate term. Some of them were not trying to write as scientists at all but rather as political theorists, while others are better described as pre-scientific writers on race who worked with inadequate information, concepts, methodology, and terminology. While Hirschfeld may have been correct in rejecting their more egregious errors, his sneering at them for these mistakes is rather like ridiculing Copernicus and Kepler because they continued to accept some erroneous ideas from medieval astronomy.

Even when Hirschfeld is right in his critique of the early race theorists, it is often because he has chosen easy targets. His "refutation" of "racism" is largely centered on irrelevant common-places that even extreme exponents of racial differences might readily acknowledge – that all human beings are part of the same species and can interbreed, that blood transfusions can take place between races, that "there is no such thing as a pure race," that the races are identical in the vast majority of physical characteristics, that cephalic index is not a meaningful measurement of intelligence or character, etc. Yet his "scientific" evidence is often merely anecdotal or simply his own opinion asserted as unquestioned truth.

In another section, he recounts the names of those he considers the 70 most outstanding figures in world history and announces that "all such lists, when made without bias, will show that persons of genius and persons of outstanding talent are not set apart from the ruck by any colour of their eyes, by a peculiar shape of the skull or the nose, by any 'ethnological' characteristics whatever. What is decisive in human beings is not race but individuality." It does not seem to occur to Hirschfeld that all but about 8 or 9 of the 70 world-historical figures on his list are white Europeans. There are no Negroes and only two Asians (Confucius and Sun Yat Sen).

It is interesting that for all his contempt for "racism," Hirschfeld never once mentions IQ studies or the considerable psychometric evidence about race and intelligence that was already available even in the 1930s. Most of Hirschfeld's polemic is aimed at the proponents of intra-European racial differences (Nordics, Alpines, Mediterraneans, Dinarics, etc.) and not at differences between whites and other major races (though he steadfastly denies such differences as well). Curiously, he never cites the work of Franz Boas and his disciples against "racism," though that work was available in Europe at the time, nor does he invoke the ideas of the Frankfurt School, though Hirschfeld's own claim that "racism" is rooted in fear, loss of self-esteem, and other social and psychological pathologies resembles the ideas the Frankfurt School was formulating.

Nor, despite Hirschfeld's own Jewish background and the Nazi threat to Jews, does he seem preoccupied with anti-Semitism; in one or two passages he criticizes Jews themselves for their own ethnocentrism and faults Zionism for having created a new "race hatred" between Jews and Arabs. Moreover, Hirschfeld is a stout defender of eugenics, though not on racial lines, and he even has a brief chapter exploring a distinction he calls "Gobinism or Galtonism" – that is, attacking the ideas of French "racist" Arthur de Gobineau and defending those of Francis Galton, who coined the word "eugenics" and pioneered its development. Today most critics of "racism" would lump Galton and Gobineau together rather than distinguish between them.

As a serious critique of the view that socially significant natural differences between the races exist, Hirschfeld's book is a failure, and even as a polemic against some of the more politicized and unverified claims about race made a century or more ago, it is weak. The importance of the book is not so much its content, however, as what it tells us about the word "racism" and how the enemies of white racial consciousness have developed and deployed it for their own purposes.

Hirschfeld describes his own political ideals as "Pan-Humanism," a version of political, cultural, and racial universalism. The Pauls themselves write, "we think that the readers of Racism will detect a very definite orientation to the Left... [Hirschfeld] was one who fully realized that sexual reform is impossible without a preliminary economic and political revolution."

In Racism, Hirschfeld offers what is essentially a definition of "Pan-Humanism": "The individual, however close the ties of neighborhood, companionship, family, a common lot, language, education, and the environment of nation and country, can find only one dependable unity within which to seek a permanent spiritual kinship – that of humanity-at-large, that of the whole human race." With one exception, he is unsparing in his denunciations of the ethnocentric loyalties of nations, races, and cultures: "Always and everywhere, except in Soviet Russia, xenophobia, xenophobia, xenophobia." Later, he informs us, "It may be too early to speak, but perhaps the problem of nationalities and races has already been solved on one-sixth of the land-surface of the globe [i.e., Stalin's Russia]."

"Racism", therefore, is a term originating on the left, and has been so defined and loaded with meanings the left wants it to have that it cannot now be used by the supporters of white racial consciousness for any constructive purpose. Anyone who uses the term to describe himself or his own views has already allowed himself to be maneuvered onto his opponents' ground and has already lost the debate. He may try to define the word differently, but he will need to spend most of his time explaining that he does not mean by it what everyone else means. As a term useful for communicating ideas that the serious supporters of white racial consciousness wish to communicate, the term is useless, and it was intended by those who developed it that it be useless for that purpose.

But understanding the origins of the word "racism" in Hirschfeld's polemic also makes clear the uselessness of the word for any other purpose. No one seems ever to have used the word to describe his own ideas or ideas with which he agrees; its only application has been by the enemies of the ideas it purports to describe, and hence it has no objective meaning apart from its polemical usage. If no one calls his own ideas "racism" and its only application is to a body of ideas considered to be untrue and evil, then it has no use other than as a kind of fancy curse word, the purpose of which is simply to demonize anyone who expresses the ideas it is supposed to describe.

It is clear that Magnus Hirschfeld himself harbored deep ideological, professional, and personal animosities against those to whom he applied the word, and those animosities may have extended to the entire society that throughout his career he associated with sexual repression and which he wanted replaced by a kind of global communism under the label of "Pan-Humanism." Whatever the flaws or virtues of his polemic against "racism," his own opposition to racial consciousness was neither entirely rational nor disinterested. It is time that the enemies of racial, national, and cultural consciousness like Hirschfeld and the Frankfurt School cease to be able to claim a monopoly on rationality and sanity and that the obsessions and motivations that seem to shape their own ideologies and political behavior be subjected to the same scrutiny they apply to the societies and peoples whom their thinking could destroy.

27 October Update

Hails:

30 tracks added/changed yesterday. Featured:

  • Negura Bunget: Om. We first discovered Negura Bunget by accident way back when. After purchasing a collection of tapes/lps/eps, we found Zirnindu-sa. The music is always entertaining and sometimes unique. Through the years, the band has improved both its production skills (the new CD was recorded in their own studio) and song writing skills. The new work, while keeping the folk/black metal mix, is less dense and more assurred.

  • Paysage d'hiver Nacht. Both 30+ minute tracks are in the list! Mixing ambient soundscapes with freezing, melancholic black metal, Nacht describes haunting, beautiful worlds.

  • Moonblood Nosferatu. Musically, we like Nosferatu. Production, on the other hand, has never translated well to an internet stream. After requests to put some of the tracks in, we tweaked the mix slightly to improve the sound after mp3 compression. Look at it this way: The Moonblood is a good counterpoint to the styles of Negura Bunget and Paysage d'hiver.

New material from Antaeus is here. Blood Libels is a smash to the face of, well, just about everything. Play it LOUD. New to the playlist are Arkona with Zeta Reticuli and the 1995 Brenoritvrezorkre demo tape, Vermyapreb.

Very Interesting Reading

www.stopspp.com

We generally take various conspiracy theories with a large grain of salt, unless backed by compelling evidence like 9/11. For a long time, we've heard stories about the plan to essentially marginalize the borders between Canada, the US & Mexico. The stories get a bit more real after reading through the documents posted on the stopspp site.

Read for yourself and decide.

Laying the groundwork

Obama may run for president in 2008

And so it begins again. An elitist society desperate to feel good about itself again replays the oldies. How? Any story with the theme of "the first (fill in the blank with your favorite victim group) to be president." Black, woman, Eskimo, bowl of custard, it's all the same.

Acutally, the bowl of custard isn't such a bad idea. At least we could eat it, providing more satisfaction than gained by listening to the drone of the current political and cultural mileau.

But that is a weakness of democracies, isn't it. Anyone in control of the major media gets to say what goes. People want to hear different things all the time and will not sit still for the truth.

On Race

Why is it that to be pro-white means being anti-(fill in the blank)? How does making disparaging remarks about another race help advance my own cause?

The vocabulary for the conversation about our race is provided by those who wish to destroy us; by those who have an interest in our decline. Our schooling, our culture and our language guides us to one conclusion: Speaking forcefully for the maintenance of our European history, culture and values can only be accomplished by denigrating another race. If a writer or speaker manages to make valid points without following the established rules, in other words thinks independently of our enemies, then he is labeled "racist," a term that is increasingly impotent but still retains enough hysteria value to be effective.

Was World War II worth it?
Posted: May 11, 2005

In the Bush vs. Putin debate on World War II, Putin had far the more difficult assignment. Defending Russia's record in the "Great Patriotic War," the Russian president declared, "Our people not only defended their homeland, they liberated 11 European countries."

Those countries are, presumably: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia and Finland.

To ascertain whether Moscow truly liberated those lands, we might survey the sons and daughters of the generation that survived liberation by a Red Army that pillaged, raped and murdered its way westward across Europe. As at Katyn Forest, that army eradicated the real heroes who fought to retain the national and Christian character of their countries.

To Bush, these nations were not liberated. "As we mark a victory of six decades ago, we are mindful of a paradox," he said:

For much of Eastern and Central Europe, victory brought the iron rule of another empire. V-E day marked the end of fascism, but it did not end the oppression. The agreement in Yalta followed in the unjust tradition of Munich and the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. Once again, when powerful governments negotiated, the freedom of small nations was somehow expendable. ... The captivity of millions in Central and Eastern Europe will be remembered as one of the greatest wrongs in history.

Bush told the awful truth about what really triumphed in World War II east of the Elbe. And it was not freedom. It was Stalin, the most odious tyrant of the century. Where Hitler killed his millions, Stalin, Mao, Ho Chi Minh, Pol Pot and Castro murdered their tens of millions.

Leninism was the Black Death of the 20th Century.

The truths bravely declared by Bush at Riga, Latvia, raise questions that too long remained hidden, buried or ignored.

If Yalta was a betrayal of small nations as immoral as the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, why do we venerate Churchill and FDR? At Yalta, this pair secretly ceded those small nations to Stalin, co-signing a cynical "Declaration on Liberated Europe" that was a monstrous lie.

As FDR and Churchill consigned these peoples to a Stalinist hell run by a monster they alternately and affectionately called "Uncle Joe" and "Old Bear," why are they not in the history books alongside Neville Chamberlain, who sold out the Czechs at Munich by handing the Sudetenland over to Germany? At least the Sudeten Germans wanted to be with Germany. No Christian peoples of Europe ever embraced their Soviet captors or Stalinist quislings.

Other questions arise. If Britain endured six years of war and hundreds of thousands of dead in a war she declared to defend Polish freedom, and Polish freedom was lost to communism, how can we say Britain won the war?

If the West went to war to stop Hitler from dominating Eastern and Central Europe, and Eastern and Central Europe ended up under a tyranny even more odious, as Bush implies, did Western Civilization win the war?

In 1938, Churchill wanted Britain to fight for Czechoslovakia. Chamberlain refused. In 1939, Churchill wanted Britain to fight for Poland. Chamberlain agreed. At the end of the war Churchill wanted and got, Czechoslovakia and Poland were in Stalin's empire.

How, then, can men proclaim Churchill "Man of the Century"?

True, U.S. and British troops liberated France, Holland and Belgium from Nazi occupation. But before Britain declared war on Germany, France, Holland and Belgium did not need to be liberated. They were free. They were only invaded and occupied after Britain and France declared war on Germany – on behalf of Poland.

When one considers the losses suffered by Britain and France – hundreds of thousands dead, destitution, bankruptcy, the end of the empires – was World War II worth it, considering that Poland and all the other nations east of the Elbe were lost anyway?

If the objective of the West was the destruction of Nazi Germany, it was a "smashing" success. But why destroy Hitler? If to liberate Germans, it was not worth it. After all, the Germans voted Hitler in.

If it was to keep Hitler out of Western Europe, why declare war on him and draw him into Western Europe? If it was to keep Hitler out of Central and Eastern Europe, then, inevitably, Stalin would inherit Central and Eastern Europe.

Was that worth fighting a world war – with 50 million dead?

The war Britain and France declared to defend Polish freedom ended up making Poland and all of Eastern and Central Europe safe for Stalinism. And at the festivities in Moscow, Americans and Russians were front and center, smiling – not British and French. Understandably.

Yes, Bush has opened up quite a can of worms.

Vinland Calling, Germany Are You There?

Yes, we are aware that the nice, open minded folks in the German government periodically find ways to block our broadcast. We can tell because our loyal German listeners keep reconnecting so the stream connection count is very, very high.

We are working on a way to avoid the issue but, for now, we ask for your patience.

US listeners: Pay attention. This could soon be you....

New Der Sturmer CD

Just finished listening to the new Der Sturmer CD, A Banner Greater Than Death. The best work from the band so far. Very polished recording, great songs and powerful ideas. Look for it to be one of the featured works on 19 October.

Thought for the day

We don't have a great war in our generation, or a great depression, but we do, we have a great war of the spirit. We have a great revolution against the culture. The great depression is our lives. We have a spiritual depression

15 October Updates

Hail,

Well. As noted above (or below, depending on your perspective), here we are at our new update/blog location. Doesn't feel like home yet but we'll do some redecorating, some deportations and some rituals and we'll be just fine.

75 or so tracks added/changed on 12 October and 15 October. A few brief notes on the featured works:

  • Nortt Ligaerd. More like doom than black metal, the force behind Nortt has managed to capture a genuinely evil, sinister feeling. I know most black metal acts ramble on about being raw or evil or lethal or nasty or genocidal or somewhat unpleasant but the feeling isn't always, or even usually, well translated into the music. The Nortt disc is different. Captured in the aural madness is a foreboding, an emotional journey into blackness.
  • Pest Noire La Sanie des siecles - Panegyrique de la degenerenscence. We've been fans of PN for a long time; the band manages to produce quality black metal with a unique feeling. Heck, there's even some lead guitar work. Never content to stay within the repetitive riff motiff, each song provides a different musical twist.
  • Wyrd Songs of the Northern Gales. Most are probably familiar with Wyrd's later works like Huldrafolk and the Vargtymmen series. Gales is an early demo that offers a glimps of the later work. Good stuff; something we've never played before.
Thanks again for your tremendous support.

Welcome to the new Ich Kampfe site

Hails,

We've moved our blog/update site to different, neutral server for the time being. Many of the problems related to slowness on our current site were due to typical DoS/spam/"the usual suspects" - ahem - attacks and we simply don't have the time or the drop in IQ points needed to deal with the war on such a level. Like the man says, you can't fix stupid.
