Playlist updates for 22 November

27 tracks added/changed yesterday.

The new Wyrd CD, Kammen is a very good release. The CD starts with a bass riff and takes off from there. Yes, there are some of the quiet, ambient parts associated with Wyrd but those augment the harder, driving edge to the recording. The record mixes well done clean vocals with harsher black metal howls.

The French black metal scene has produced a number of good bands. Seigneur Voland, a product of Xaphan is with the help of Rost, Rimmon & LF play a powerfully raw black metal style. Sometimes on the edge of melody, always washed in the darkness of hatred, dissoance and pain. Final Stand pulls together various tracks from Seigneur Voland EP, the Chemin de Haine splits, and the 3-way split with Blessed in Sin & Kristallnacht.

So we were looking through all of our Moonblood tapes the other day and found our copy of Blut und Krieg. Searching our records, we found that we've never featured the tape. So, here you go. Most will know all the songs. Enjoy!

Other stuff added for the first time from Countess (Spawn of Steel), Darkthule (Magna Europa..), Axis of Advance (Purify) and Niroth (Niroth).

Playlist news and other updates

37 tracks added/changed on 15 November.

Astrofaes have released a long-awaited CD, idea.form.essence. You will hear many elements of the various Ukranian metal influences found in Astrofaes. Harshness from Hate Forest, echoing, broad guitar-scapes from Drudkh and (whatever) from Blood of Kingu. Less of a focus on the synth driven sound as well.

From time to time, we focus on influential music. Dissection has never been one of our favorite bands but we recognize the contribution. A great remaster of The Somberlain was released last year and we are featuring tracks from both CDs in the set. The first CD brings the original songs back with improved sound quality. The second disc features some live tracks, EP tracks and rehearsal tracks(remastered).

Horna has released on CD Pimeyden Hehku. Originally available at their concerts across Europe, we find the band moving more toward a rawer style, the preference here in the bunker. Expect intense aural hatred.

Other items:

A compilation of from Portugal shows off some good bands. The only gripe we have is that kraft sound too much like a Xasthur clone. They do it very well (Mostly Sorrow is a great song, full of atmosphere and dread), don't get us wrong. We like the tracks alot. We just don't think the black metal world needs another Xasthur.

We receive a lot of demo material. A month or so, we received an email from Seraphim Slaughter. Doing some research, we found a picture of the band with one of the members wearing a gg allin shirt. That fact alone won us as fans. On Scum Terror, the band mixes black/thrash/death with a dose of angry gg allin style punk. Track down this release and keep your eyes on these guys.

We also just received the new Wyrd release, Kammen. Tracks will go in on 11/22. The best Wyrd CD so far, in our opinion. The CD starts with a bass line and then moves into some great guitar riffs. There are some bona fide head banging parts of the CD. More to come...

Wonderful Harpers Mag Article on SPLC

From the article -

I also received the law school’s invitation to the presentation of the “Morris Dees Justice Award,” which you also mentioned in your letter as one of the “great things” happening at the law school. I decline that invitation for another reason. Morris Dees is a con man and fraud, as I and others, such as U.S. Circuit Judge Cecil Poole, have observed and as has been documented by John Egerton, Harper’s, the Montgomery Advertiser in its “Charity of Riches” series, and others.

Possible Stream Drops 10/11 November

When: GMT 5 AM 11 November (in the US, that's 9pm 10 November on the West Coast and midnight on the East Coast).

Duration: Difficult to tell. The drops should be brief and you should be able to reconnect.

What: According to our host,

When the upgrade is complete, all listeners will be able to connect to
Live365 streams on port 80. This is the standard port assigned for web traffic and almost anywhere you can access a web page, you will now be able to access our audio streams without interference from high-port blocking firewalls or misconfigured security software.

In the past, system upgrades have resulted in some general weirdness. Stay tuned.

Playlist Notes for 08 November

37 tracks added/changed yesterday.

Featured works consist of collections/compilations from three important bands:

When Peste Noire released a collection of old demo material last year, the sound quality was less than desirable. A new set was issued with much improved results. Mors Orbis Terrarum, which translates to something like "death for the world," collects material from Aryan Supremacy, Mémoire Païenne (except for Spleen), Macabre Transcendance and both versions of Phalènes et Pestilence - Salvatrice Averse along with some bonus tracks. The early period is our favorite KPN sound. If you are new to Peste Noire, then the early material provides a good introduction. French black metal with varied musical styles and instruments, a few actual guitar solos and intelligent lyrics/songwriting.

The new Profanatica CD arrived in the bunker last week and, like the KPN release, it draws together scattered and rare demo work. The Enemy of Virtue is essential listening for anyone interested in US blackmetal. Brutal, unadorned, focused. The music does not let up.

Kristallnacht reminds us all of the terrible price we pay for failure to head the warnings of the past. Blooddrenched Memorial represents the entire body of work of the band and also provides a lesson about the difficulties and demands inherent in choosing a NS philosophy. LF went on other projects (like the excellent Desolation Triumphalis) but moved away from the NS philosphy in his music. Any who would champion the NS worldview come to understand the consequence, the price. Years ago, the original Kristallnacht brought retribution on an alien parasite growing in the body of a people. And so will it happen again and the leaders of the movement will be those few fighters willing to stake everything for the birth of a new people, a new awareness and, ultimately, eternal peace and prosperity.

Other cool stuff:

We finally managed to get our hands on the Angantyr/Nasheim split CD. Angantyr delivers two tracks plus a live song. The real find here is Nasheim. We've been fans since the Tormenting Legends II LP. On the current split, Nasheim deliver a single 25 minute track that is at times atmospheric, at times raging and, generally, hangs together for the entire time. Most of the song is in the playlist although about four mintues at the beginning is edited out with no real loss to the experience of the song; you still get 20+ minutes.

Charnel Winds (not to be confused with Charnel Valley) new demo is excellent. Only two tracks long, it shows a great deal of promise. Black metal from Finland owing more to more emotive, flowing bands rather than the rawer side of the Finnish scene.

Path To War With Iran

Israeli controlled Germany continues the war of words (just like in the 1930s, only this time Germany is not the target).

German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday said she felt a moral duty to protect Israel and would stand firm in the face of Iran's nuclear ambitions and its threats to wipe the Jewish state off the map.

After receiving a prestigious award from the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Merkel said the prize gave her a responsibility to fight racism and to foster close ties between Germans and the Jewish community.

Excellent Article on Race and Crime

Excellent article with many references.

Shortly after midnight on January 7, the most controversial crime of the year (hopefully) was committed in Knoxville, Tennessee. A young white couple—Channon Gail Christian, 21, and Christopher Newsom Jr., 23—were carjacked, kidnapped, gang-raped (both of them), tortured and murdered. Five suspects, all black, are in custody.

I gave more of the appalling details in my May 14 American Renaissance online article. (See also the much longer, revised version that is the cover story of AR's July issue.)

The crime I have dubbed "The Knoxville Horror" has raised grave questions

About the credibility of the media, police, and prosecutors, who continually lie to whites about the dangers facing them, and, in the media's case, simultaneously propagate fictions about "white racism";

About America's perverted dialogue on race, in which citizens are presented with a false alternative between crypto-Marxist "anti-racism" and "white supremacism"; and

About a society in which whites are hunted like prey by black racists.

The Knoxville Horror is no aberration. At the end of this article, I will set it in the true context of black-on-white crime. And I will discuss two further subsequent cases perverted by America’s “anti-racism” dominant ideology.

AgJOBS Dead - For Now

From NumbersUSA:

Our Capitol Hill team learned late last night that Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has agreed not to offer her revised AgJOBS amendment to the Farm Bill Extension Act of 2007 as she had originally intended. As a reminder, this is the AgJOBS amnesty to reward an estimated 1.5 million illegal aliens with amnesty (plus their spouses and children which could push the total to three million or more).

Sen. Feinstein said the recent death of DREAM amnesty and the defeat of the Senate amnesty bill in June, combined with the politics on the farm bill made her believe she didn't have the support to pass AgJOBS.

She is quoted on today's Congress Daily as saying:

"A broad bipartisan coalition of members believe AgJobs is a necessary solution to the crisis being faced by the agricultural industry," Feinstein said.

"But in this session, unfortunately, you need more than broad support -- you need the right time and opportunity to line up as well."

"So when we took a clear-eyed assessment of the politics of the farm bill and the defeat of the DREAM Act (which would have allowed college-bound illegal immigrants to earn green cards) and comprehensive immigration reform, it became clear that our support could not sustain these competing forces," Feinstein said......

This is a tremendous victory for all of you who oppose amnesty and illegal immigration. Your calls and faxes this week were a major factor in convincing Sen. Feinstein to pull the amnesty. And, as Sen. Feinstein indicated, your success in defeating the DREAM amnesty and the Senate "comprehensive" amnesty bill in June have helped create a situation in which Sen. Feinstein and other Senators are finding it is just too difficult to push through their favorite amnesty.

Unfortunately, we are not out of the woods. Our Capitol Hill team is hearing that Sen. Feinstein may have worked a deal in which she will be able to bring up the AgJOBS amnesty as a stand-alone bill in exchange for not offering the amendment to the Farm Bill. Congress is expected to be in session for at least two weeks next month. That means we may face the threat of a stand-alone AgJOBS amnesty for at least another month. We will keep you updated to any potential threat.

Amnesty and AgJobs. Plus: Nice Pic, Diane!

If you've been following the immigrate debate, you know that the AgJOBS (Agricultural Job Opportunities, Benefits, and Security Act of 2007) bill sponsored by Dianne Feinstein is coming back, likely as an attachment to the Farm Bill Extension Act of 2007. The Heritage Foundation and Numbers USA provide nice overviews.

Perhaps Diane made that great face in the pic above when she remembered that here co-sponsor on the bill back in 2006 was Senator Larry "Wide Stance" Craig.

Delaware - Victory for Now

FIRE Press Release

NEWARK, Del., November 2, 2007—After an intense campaign led by the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), the University of Delaware has dropped an ideological reeducation program that was referred to in the university’s own materials as a “treatment” for students’ incorrect attitudes and beliefs. The program’s stated goal was for the approximately 7,000 students in Delaware’s residence halls to adopt highly specific university-approved views on politics, race, sexuality, sociology, moral philosophy, and environmentalism. Following FIRE’s campaign, which called the attention of the national media and the blogosphere to the Orwellian program, university President Patrick Harker terminated the program, effective immediately.

“FIRE applauds President Harker for recognizing the chilling nature of this program and ending it,” FIRE President Greg Lukianoff said. “Under the First Amendment, state institutions have no right to impose mandatory ideological training on their students. We are thrilled that this unconscionable and invasive program is gone, but we will be keeping an eye on the University of Delaware to make sure future programs respect the individual right of conscience of its students.”

From The Chronicle of Higher Education blog comment section:

I have been an RA for the past two years and have not been comfortable with this program. It has gotten out of hand and demanding of students. Yesterday I was approached to be an advocate of the program. Several of my RA friends have been asked to be available for talking with the press. When I declined I was taken aside and told that my future as an RA was in jeopardy as was future a student. I decided to stand-up for myself. I read the university response to FIRE and they seem to want to divert the attention away from the programs flaws and talk about how FIRE make U Del. students look. Well it was U Del. students that had the backbone and insight to bring this issue up to FIRE. Go Hens! FIRE believes in us.

Playlist Update for 02 November

21 tracks added/changed yesterday and we feature three new releases.

Satanic Warmaster has been busy of late. The Mutiilation/Drowning the Light split; Werwolf Hate Attack live EP and now, Revelation, a short CD featuring three songs and an intro. Good, well produced black metal in the style you've come to expect from SM. Great drums.

Dawn of the Heathens is the return effort from Wolfnacht. Instantly identifiable black metal from Greece continuing the tradition of earlier CDs like Heidentum and Totan fur WOTAN.

Originally recorded back in 2001, Semper Fi has finally managed to escape from No Colours. Nargaroth have always been a bit of a mystery. The early works captured a certain spirit and feeling. Later material, plagued by poor production, and frequently monotonous song structures left many fans wondering. Semper fi is certainly not going to please everyone. In fact, anyone looking for smoothly produced, clean black metal will be disappointed. The music has a raw, rehearsal quality as noted in the notes. The song writing is basic and direct. There is no multi-layered production, no overly complex time signatures, no wide disparity between musical style of the tracks. Kanwulf has created a simple, straightforward black metal CD.

Other items of note include Eldrig, Orlog and Dimentianon.

Russian NS March!

Nationalists Usurp New Russian Holiday

MOSCOW (AP) — A Russian holiday created by the Kremlin to replace the traditional celebrations of the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution has been usurped by far-right nationalists, who are fielding tens of thousands of supporters for marches in Moscow and other cities on Sunday.

In Soviet times, the Bolshevik rise to power was celebrated Nov. 7 with military parades and mass rallies. Boris Yeltsin, the first post-Soviet president, renamed the holiday the Day of Accord and Reconciliation, but as communists continued to celebrate the old holiday with demonstrations across the country, it soon acquired an anti-government tone.

Two years ago, President Vladimir Putin gave the holiday a new date, Nov. 4, and a new name, National Unity Day. Intended to invoke patriotism, the new holiday was immediately seized upon by extreme nationalists, who have organized what has come to be called the Russian March.

Sunday's demonstrations are being marshaled by the Movement Against Illegal Migration, which advocates the deportation of nonwhite migrants, and the Slavic Union, another white supremacist group. A few smaller nationalist groups, including Russian Orthodox fundamentalists and monarchists, will join the processions.

"Of course, we are not using the holiday the way the (Kremlin) administration wanted it to be used," said Alexander Belov, the leader of the Movement Against Illegal Migration. His name, based on the Russian word for "white," is a nom de guerre.

The Kremlin has tried to give the holiday significance by tying it to the 1612 expulsion of Polish and Cossack troops who had briefly seized Moscow at a time of political disarray. Months later, 16-year-old Mikhail Romanov was chosen as Russia's new czar; his dynasty ruled the country for 300 years.

Nov. 4 also is the day the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates the icon of the Mother of God of Kazan, one of Russia's most venerated.

For the Kremlin, the historical parallel was clear. After the troubled years following the 1991 Soviet collapse, seen as a time of economic degradation, uncertainty and loss of national pride, Putin has overseen a resurgent Russia that has challenged the West to reclaim its standing as a major international player.

A spokesman for Putin tried to play down the anti-Western character of the holiday.

"It should not be connected to the Poles," spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. "It's a day of national accord, national unity, which is very important for Russia today."

The anti-immigrant nationalists are using the holiday for their own agenda.

"It's not the Poles we will evict from Russia," Slavic Union leader Dmitry Demushkin said at a news conference Thursday, as other organizers of the Russian March laughed approvingly. "The Russian March goes on year round."

At the inaugural Russian March in 2005, several thousand members of the nationalist anti-immigrant groups marched through Moscow, some shouting "Heil Hitler." The march caused public uproar and the following year police broke up the demonstrations.

This year, Moscow authorities have approved a Russian March for up to 7,000 people, to be held along an embankment of the Moscow River, away from the city center. Organizers also plan to hold marches in more than 20 other cities.

Nationalist and neo-Nazi groups have instructed activists to cooperate with police and avoid fights.

"All national socialists will march in a separate column," said a posting on a neo-Nazi blog signed by a user nicknamed Special Nazi. "Bring your banners, the flags of your groups and brigades — but not the extreme ones to avoid the aggression of the cops."

Slavic Union supporters have agreed not to unfurl their banners, consisting of four squares superimposed to resemble the Nazi swastika, Belov said.

"This is a celebration of the Russian people. Nobody will yell 'Heil, Hitler,'" said Yevgeny Valyayev, spokesman for the Russian March.

Lev Ponomaryov, a rights activist, said the demonstrators' slogans are merely cruder versions of what is said by Russia's "anti-liberal and anti-immigrant" leaders.

"In the end, shortsighted Kremlin ideologists and strategists have given the extremists a wonderful holiday," Ponomaryov wrote in an opinion piece in The Moscow Times.

Russia has seen a rise in hate crimes, with more than 50 people killed and more than 400 injured in ethnically motivated attacks this year, according to the Sova rights center.

Several pro-Kremlin youth groups and the youth group of the liberal Yabloko party plan counter rallies Sunday. The largest pro-Kremlin group, called Nashi, or Ours, will rally near Red Square, where thousands will make a giant "blanket of peace" symbolizing accord among Russia's ethnic groups.

Only 23 percent of Russians know the name of the Nov. 4 holiday, according to a poll released Friday by the Levada Center. Of the 1,600 people polled nationwide, only 4 percent knew the holiday commemorates the liberation of Moscow from the Poles in 1612. The survey has a margin of error of three percentage points.

FIRE Responds to Delaware

FIRE Response to Michael Gilbert, Vice President for Student Life, University of Delaware

November 1, 2007
FIRE is shocked and disappointed that the University of Delaware has chosen to defend its invasive and unconstitutional residence life education program. Rather than immediately renounce and dismantle what the university itself calls a “treatment” program for students living in its residence halls, the school has chosen instead to obfuscate, deny, and distort the program’s intention, its operation, and its effect.

Vice President for Student Life Michael Gilbert raises several erroneous and misleading points in response to FIRE’s October 29 letter that demand an immediate answer. Below is a list of assertions from Gilbert’s letter, followed by FIRE’s rebuttal of each claim.

1) “Your letter asserts a number of conclusions that can be supported by a selective citation of documents, but are not actualized.”

FIRE’s Response: FIRE unequivocally stands by its description of the University of Delaware’s “curriculum” for student housing residents. We invite the public to view the full curriculum of the residence life program—available in PDF format on our website—in its entirety, and to judge for themselves whether we have misrepresented any aspect of the nature of that program through selective quotation. In fact, as readers will see upon examination, the concerns that we have raised pervade every one of the hundreds of pages that constitute the University of Delaware’s residence life curriculum.
